This was made popular by the Beetles, so long ago. I cannot imagine that a group singing rock could have so many followers and so much wisdom! Their songs live on today, as even many a young go for them.

Yes, it really does need wisdom for us to stop the Just Do It and do the Let It Be. Maybe age is the big determinant. Hope not. There really entails so much effort to effect change and the Just Do It may become exhausting if done constantly. The effort in the Let It Be can be more exhausting as accepting what is given to us is never easy; being conditioned early in life to eradicate all discomforts. However, the constant practice of Let It Be diminishes efforts as Just Do It increases it.

Every time I read the newspaper and particularly the business section, I see news of people expanding their businesses, or businesses reporting huge increases in profits. I wonder then how much money a certain person now has, or how much he truly needs and wants. More importantly I wonder what he can do about all that he has accumulated. For certain, I know that when anyone dies, he can never bring the money with him; He cannot even bring the coffin and the clothes he wears as he lies in state.

And it is so ironic that as one works more, stress and ailments accumulate. Consequently, so does his health maintenance bill which requires him to work more. The cycle repeats and increases on a greater scale as more stress is incurred. The ill effects towards one’s personal health could be devastating. The cost to his personal relations with his own family is worst. I personally find it so tragic when a person cannot easily find the time to go on vacation, or when a person spends lesser time to be with his love ones than in the company of those who work for him. He should also think that as he drives those subordinates to work harder, he also deprives them of their quality time with their own families.

It really takes so much wisdom to just let things be. For those with the mindset of achieving things since they were so young, letting things be is like asking them to go around naked. They feed on things to do, and without such things, they will get sick. Yet, one cannot but deny the beauty of the world around us. Strangely such beauty can only be seen when we are at our point of being joyful and with practically no stress. The experience of enjoying God’s creation could be exhilarating, and often words are a loss to describe.

So when we have a dad who is so mindful of us, dictating what we all should do, and even what to wear, let him be. He has the right to be the Dad, and soon we too will be a dad or a mom. When we have a helper too dumb so that we need to tell her what to always do, and how to do the things properly, let her be. Try to imagine a life taking care of the entire house without her. When we see our country full of problems, become not a politician as to make it worst. Just do the little things in our own community and effect the small but significant changes that truly matters to people who are not strangers.

Give thanks for all that we have been given. Even problems that come to us carry their own hidden messages. Instead of resisting, open our hearts to see the lessons in them. Soon we shall see that every problem is a preparation to something bigger in our future life. The greatest wisdom is that the universe is without limit in abundance. (Economics did not see this) Ask and we shall be given; but only if we are in the proper disposition to receive.

Just Do It defines our capability and nature that is in our humanity. Let It Be defines our nature that is partly of the divine. We are an inherent part of Creation. Let us not be too busy or too blind to enjoy!
